taiwan china Western countries will take the Taiwan problem into their hands to suppress China. – China condemns UK supplying submarine technology to Taiwan

by time news
China has been angered by a significant increase in the UK’s cost of supplying Taiwan with submarine technology.

A year later, the war in Ukraine is still not over. The war is still going on because of the financial and military aid provided by the West led by the United States. Russia started the war as a result of the US instigating Ukraine to station its forces on the Russian border, far away and unrelated to Russia.

Reports have surfaced that China is going to supply weapons to Russia in response to America’s aggressive actions. In this situation, the US took the Taiwan problem into its hands to give China a headache. While the United States has given permission to supply arms to Taiwan, the western imperialist country England has also taken over Taiwan.

Although the UK has been providing aid to Taiwan since 2017, aid to Taiwan has increased significantly in the past year alone. The value of licenses granted by the British government to companies to export submarine-related components and technology to Taiwan was 167 million pounds ($201.29 million) in the first nine months of last year, according to UK government export licensing data. That’s more than in the previous six years, according to data from a Reuters analysis.

China considers Taiwan a part of its country, the so-called one-China policy, and China strongly opposes foreign interference in Taiwan.
In this context, with the figures published by Reuters, China’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement: “If this is true, it is a serious violation of One China policy. It undermines China’s sovereignty and security interests, and undermines peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.”

And “China is deeply concerned about this and strongly opposes it,” said the written statement, which urged Britain to “refrain from providing military support to Taiwan authorities.”

Britain does not recognize Taiwan as a sovereign state and does not have formal diplomatic relations with the island. But China says it maintains economic and trade ties and maintains a de facto British embassy in Taipei.

A British government spokesman said in a statement: “The UK has a long-standing record of granting licenses for the export of controlled goods to Taiwan on a case-by-case basis, where those uses are consistent with the rules governing arms exports.

“We believe that the Taiwan issue should be resolved peacefully by people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait through constructive dialogue, without threats or force or coercion,” the statement added.

Britain began issuing submarine-related licenses in 2017 after Taiwan announced plans to build submarines. Notably, Britain approved the export of submarine parts and technology to Taiwan worth £31,415 in 2017 and £87 million in 2020, according to licensing data.
