The Zhumashbek uulu medal was the fourth for the Kyrgyz freestyle wrestling team at this tournament. Earlier, Almaz Smanbekov (up to 57 kg) took silver, and Ulukbek Zholdoshbekov (up to 65 kg) and Orozobek Toktomambetov (up to 70 kg) won two bronze medals. The Asian Wrestling Championship began on April 9 and will end on April 14.
Earlier, the team of Kyrgyzstan in Greco-Roman wrestling and the women’s team completed their performance at this tournament.
Greco-Roman wrestlers won seven medals. Athletes took three gold, one silver and three bronze medals. In the team event, the Kyrgyz team in Greco-Roman wrestling took second place, losing the championship in terms of the number of medals to the Iranian team.
The women’s team of Kyrgyzstan won three medals at this tournament – one gold, one silver and one bronze.
