– How is your life now?

Just like that (laughs), still an “air defense soldier” for over 10 years, I maintain a good relationship with my ex-wife, together taking care of our son. We share the same point of view, when fate ends, there is still duty, the only connection is the children, so that they can see the warmth of family. If you cannot give your children a complete family, don’t let them feel sad.

Xuan Nghia is as talented as his brother Xuan Hinh.

– What about work, sir?

Working in a military environment, I put my mission first. Recently, I have changed my thinking and actions a bit, paying more attention to traditional arts, re-recording many Hat Van versions. In the near future, I will continue to record many ancient Cheo versions. The legacy of previous generations left behind is very good, I want to record it both as a souvenir and to contribute a small part to preserving the original Cheo version.

Recently, I have also paid more attention to the entertainment needs of the audience. Before, I used to do long comedies, now I do more short situations. In modern life, it seems that the audience is more interested in short comedies.

– Having an older brother named Xuan Hinh who is famous for many products of singing Van and Cheo, and has an identical voice, do you feel pressured?

Mr. Hinh is a meticulous person in both work and art, from costumes, performances, and maintaining his image both in his career and in life. Is there any pressure to be like such a person? (laughs)

I don’t try to imitate Mr. Hinh, but many audiences comment that his voice and appearance are similar, so sometimes they get it wrong.

Sometimes I feel pressured and sad because many products I create from start to finish, from script to staging, performance… but when released, the audience “praises” me for being imitators. But the sadness is only fleeting, I still feel happy, just being like you is enough (laughs).

– Recently, when collaborating with “beauty queen of cheo village” – People’s Artist Thuy Linh to release traditional music products, many people rumored that the two are a couple?

The two brothers have a common love for traditional art. We are close friends in the profession, working at the same Military Cheo Theater. Thuy Linh is my boss, there is no such thing as “being a couple”. If the journalist wants to matchmake, I will ask Thuy Linh again (laughs).

– After more than 20 years in the profession, what do you regret the most?

The biggest regret is probably that I am slow to update in this era of technology. If I had been more diligent in learning, my products would have spread better, and young audiences would have loved traditional art and Xuan Nghia more and more.
