Afghan airspace is still under US control. American unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are flying over the territory of the country, said the Chief of the General Staff of the Afghan Army, formed by the radical Taliban movement (banned in the Russian Federation), Kari Fasihuddin Fitrat, Day.Az reports with reference to TASS.

“UAVs conduct patrols from time to time, and they [воздушное пространство Афганистана] still controlled by the Americans. They [БПЛА] enter Afghan territory from one of the neighboring countries,” he said in an interview with TOLOnews TV channel.

Fitrat also noted that if the Pakistani Armed Forces “try to use force” on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, which Kabul considers an “imaginary line,” the Taliban will respond in the same way. According to the head of the General Staff of the Taliban army, the number of military personnel in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Defense and the Intelligence Department is 500 thousand people, and the army personnel is 172 thousand.

After the United States announced in the spring of 2021 its decision to withdraw its armed forces from Afghanistan, the Taliban launched a large-scale operation to establish control over the country. On August 15 of the same year, the radicals entered Kabul without a fight, and on September 7 they announced the composition of the interim government, the legitimacy of which has not yet been officially recognized by any country.
