President Javier Milei assured today that the poverty figures given by the UCA are “a drawing” and that the National Congress is a “rathole” during a talk he gave in Corrientes at the Freedom Club. “I start from the assumption that politicians are shit and people despise them,” he said.
The president was especially harsh with deputy Ricardo López Murphy, whom he called “traitor” to the liberal cause. He also referred to the scandal with Lali Esposito and spoke about the omnibus law and the Decree of Necessity and Urgency.
Milei arrived in Corrientes in the afternoon, where he was received by the governor of the province, Gustavo Valdés. The President traveled to the capital of Corrientes to participate in the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the Freedom Clubwhich brings together the local liberal thought community.
The head of state arrived accompanied by the general secretary of the presidency, Karina Milei; the presidential spokesperson, Manuel Adorni; and the Minister of the Interior, Guillermo Francos. The event was scheduled at the “Espacio Andes” convention center, located at 3840 Maipú Avenue, in the capital of Corrientes.
In this framework, the head of state presented in a conference titled “A liberal Argentina is possible”. Its beginnings
At the beginning of his presentation, Milei spoke about the beginnings of his studies at the university where he received a “Keynesian” education and was very critical of this line of thought. He also briefly reviewed his professional career in the private sector and his postgraduate studies where He stopped for a few minutes to defend the existence of monopolies and the main ideas of the Austrian school of economics, which at the university had been pointed out to him as something bad.
Then the president called himself an anarcho-capitalist: “I am an anarcho-capitalist and I am proud to be so. “What happens is that I’m crazy, but I’m not stupid, I don’t eat glass.” In this sense, he stressed that it is counterproductive to make differences between types of liberals, since “they are fights that make no sense and the only thing they do is be functional to the statists.”
“Reality is what it is, no matter what you like. There are some restrictions you can lift and some you can’t, but What I am clear about is that there is nothing more cowardly than staying outside and throwing stones from there, because I can assure you that getting into this mud is not free.”he added.
“They have said completely aberrant things about me, my sister, my family. The system defends itself and one of the things that What I discovered is that the fight happens from within because if you want to win the game you have to play.r,” he described.
It was then that The head of state recalled that he began to think about a candidacy in the 2019 presidential elections, in the return that Alberto Fernández made a wide difference over Mauricio Macriwhom he ended up beating in the generals.
“I saw Leandro Santoro directly asking that I be censored, there are ruder cases and others that are not, but he asked for my person to be censored. Faced with that situation, I said ‘it’s going to be complicated for me to be exposed to the media, to give conferences, I’m going to run out of money and I’m going to have a bad time.’ One day I was having dinner with my sister, a person came, talked to me about the cultural battle, put a ticket on the table and asked me ‘where are Milei’s ideas here?’” he recalled about this stage that began in years of pandemic.
Minutes later he criticized Horacio Rodríguez Larreta and Ricardo López Murphy, whom he described as “a traitor of ideas” who “worked for a social democrat” and who “disguises himself as a liberal and is a real piece of trash, who goes against ideas.”
And he remarked: “There is a phrase in politics that says ‘he who betrays once, always betrays’. Therefore, as I said recently, For traitors there is no tabula rasa. So, now, When you see him trying to save Chapter 4 of the Bases Law, don’t believe him, in reality he is trying to blow up my economic program so that I get screwed, because he is still an employee of Larreta”.
