At the heart of the next ECOWAS summit to be held in Guinea-Bissau on Sunday July 9, 2023, issues related to the organization of elections in countries in transition. These are Mali, Burkina Faso and Guinea-Conakry. These three countries are ruled by the military after the coups. According to our information, the Head of State, Patrice Talon will take part in the work of this summit. Following these questions, Talon and his peers will address in the discussions, who to entrust the presidency of this sub-regional organization or the reappointment of President Umaro Sissoco Embaló. It should be recalled that Mali, Guinea and Burkina Faso were suspended from the decision-making bodies of ECOWAS after military takeovers. Mali and Guinea had also been subject to other sanctions, which were partly lifted.
