“It is not appropriate to talk about the name Tamil Nadu, which was praised by Mahakavi Bharatiyar and called Tamilnadu by Mahakavi Bharatiyar, but it is not appropriate to call it a separatist,” said ADMK Policy Propagation Secretary Thambidurai in Krishnagiri.

Krishnagiri West District AIADMK held a public meeting on the 106th birthday of AIADMK President and former Chief Minister MGR near Parkur Bus Stand. The meeting was presided over by Union Secretary Rajendran, former MLA from Barkur. In this, AIADMK Policy Propagation Secretary, former Deputy Speaker of Parliament and Member of Parliament Thambidurai participated and delivered a special speech.

Speaking then Thambidurai said, “The Erode assembly constituency by-election has been announced today. Just as the Dindigul by-election was a turning point for the AIADMK in this election, the Erode Assembly by-election will be a turning point, and the AIADMK will win massively under the leadership of Palaniswami in this by-election. Apart from that, under the law of one country, one election along with the parliamentary elections, the assembly elections are coming along with the parliamentary elections. AIADMK needs to strengthen the hands of Interim General Secretary Palaniswami for a landslide victory in this too.

The words written by Mahakavi Bharatiyar in 1915 are included in Tamil Nadu government’s twelfth standard Tamil text book. Bharatiyar mentioned that “Mention Tamil Nadu” in it. When Anna, the founder of the Dravidian movement, was the chief minister, a resolution was passed in the assembly and accepted by the central government, and it was legally named Tamil Nadu. This is what every Tamilian strived for. If we say all this, can we say BJP is separatist? Can we spread such an idea? Think about it.

As far as Tamil Nadu is concerned, there are people here who have a sense of language and maintain the culture. That is why the Dravidian movement was born. Tamil Nadu, a sensitive region, is heartbroken if it complains about the ethnic-conscious movement.

The DMK government has failed to fulfill its election promises after 20 months of assuming charge. A movement started against AIADMK succession politics. Succession politics prevails in DMK today. Former Chief Minister Karunanidhi’s family continues to do succession politics. Therefore, in the coming parliamentary assembly elections, we should vote in such a way as to teach DMK a proper lesson and make AIADMK win.”
