Chennai: The Tamil Nadu junior girls team won the third position in the national level ‘Cycle Polo Championship’.
Under the auspices of the Indian Cycle Polo Federation, the national level cycle polo tournament for sub-junior and junior started in Madhya Pradesh on 20th and ended the day before yesterday.
State teams from all over the country including Tamil Nadu participated in the competition.
In this, 24 teams including Tamil Nadu competed in the junior category. The Tamil Nadu team advanced to the semi-finals and qualified for the third place competition. In the third place match, Tamil Nadu won the silver medal by defeating Kerala 9-3.
In the final match, Chhattisgarh team won 12 – 6 against Uttar Pradesh team. In the sub-junior category as well, the Chhatishgarh team won the top spot by defeating the Uttar Pradesh team with a score of 8 – 2. Kerala team won the third position.
