In Chengalpattu district in particular, 1607 candidates from AIADMK, DMK, Naam Tamilar, Bamaka and other parties are contesting for the post of 277 ward members in corporations, municipalities and municipalities.
The district has 5,23,233 male voters and 5,43,825 female voters, bringing the total electorate to 10,76,762 today.
