Chief Minister MK Stalin said that Tamil Nadu will continue to follow the nationally defined test rules.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a consultative meeting with all state chief ministers on corona prevention measures today (13-1-2022) via video link.

Attending the meeting, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M.K. Speaking on the occasion, Stalin said that Tamil Nadu was fully prepared to manage the Omigran wave of the corona epidemic and since their government took over, vaccination has increased and to date, 64% of those eligible have been fully vaccinated. He also noted that 74 percent of young people between the ages of 15 and 18 have been vaccinated and that the booster dose vaccine is currently well received.

In his address, the Chief Minister said that control rooms have been set up at the state and district levels to control the corona epidemic and Govt care centers have been set up in all the required cities. In addition, the RTPCR will continue to adhere to the nationally defined testing regulations in Tamil Nadu. He also noted that the test is used only, RTPCR. The Chief Minister said that the number of tests, oxygen production capacity, oxygen storage and intensive care unit beds have increased in Tamil Nadu.

The Chief Minister said that he had instructed all the authorities to strictly enforce all the rules and regulations required to control the Govt epidemic and that all the state machinery was fully prepared to deal with the situation.

Finally, the Chief Minister assured that Tamil Nadu would stand by all the efforts taken by the Central Government in managing this corona wave.

During the consultation meeting, the Minister of Medicine and Public Welfare, Ma. Subramanian, Radhakrishnan, Principal Secretary, Department of Public Welfare, Kumar Jayant, Principal Secretary, Department of Revenue and Disaster Management, Senthilkumar, Special Mission Officer, Department of Medical and Public Welfare were present.
