Hybrid four-wheelers are equipped with both a petrol engine and a rechargeable battery engine. Thus, cab drivers can recharge their vehicle batteries at electric charging stations in the city. This will make the car run on electricity. Where there are no electric battery recharge stations, there are regular petrol stations. You can fill petrol for vehicles here.
In this way, the British government predicted that if London cab drivers use hybrid vehicles, air pollution can be prevented in the long run. But in the latest UK federal budget, electricity bills have soared. As a result, cab drivers are unable to charge their batteries at high cost. And drivers have to wait in queues for nearly two hours to recharge their vehicles’ batteries. This affects their business and income. Therefore, the Black Cab Drivers Association has requested the British Government to reduce the increasing electricity charges.
Currently, the increase in electricity bills in Britain has forced drivers to put petrol in their cabs. Drivers also reported that there are very few battery charging stations in the nooks and crannies of the city while there are petrol stocks.
One of the imperatives of the time is to develop electric vehicles to curb carbon emissions. But this change is unlikely to happen immediately. It is worth noting that this will take many more years.
