Madurai: The Madurai branch of the High Court has ordered to send a ‘notice’ to the government in a case seeking action to recover the illegal sale of land belonging to Bharatiyar’s school in Ettayapuram, Tuathikudi district.

Kaja Moideen from Ettayapuram said in the PIL filed:

Ettayapuram has a government-aided, Raja Higher Secondary School. Mahakavi Subramania Bharatiyar studied here. 40 village students are benefited by this school.

ChEnmity

In 1966, the Tamil Nadu government provided 5.03 acres of outlying land for the school playground. It is currently being sold illegally to some people without the permission of the relevant authorities.
