CHENNAI: Due to the reluctance of public sector companies to provide details of vacant posts, the Government Staff Selection Commission is unable to conduct the examinations.

In Tamil Nadu there are 51 Public Sector Undertakings, Commissions and Groups representing 10 sectors like Housing, Transport, Electricity, Drinking Water Supply, Industrial Infrastructure Development, Financial Services.

Vacancies arising in these are filled by the respective companies through direct selection. It was also said that there is no unified procedure followed and unnecessary confusion is caused by each institution conducting separate examinations.
