Omalur : DIG, – SP, Police got nervous as people tried to stop the vehicle and file a petition.
The people on behalf of Chinnaiyan filed a complaint in the government offices including the Collector against Chettu who belongs to the area for encroachment on the land at Pachanambatti, Adi Dravidar Street near Omalur, Salem District.
Likewise Chettu, through his supporters, has been complaining about those who are against him.
Yesterday, Salem DIG, Rajeshwari, SP, Sivakumar, who was on his way to Balaru area next to Mettur, came to Omalur DSP office to participate in the ‘online meeting’. They gathered in front of the DSP office to report the problems in the village area.
After the meeting, the two officials left. SB, the vehicle arrived. When people tried to stop the vehicle and file a petition, the car did not stop.
The next DIG intercepted the car. At that time, DSP, Sangeeta, Omalur police stopped the people and took them to the roadside. Only one petitioned the DIG. Due to this there was tension between the policemen for some time. Then, the DIG, the car took off.
DSP Sangeeta took the people who had come to present the petition to her office and interrogated them by intercepting the car of the higher officials and advising them not to present the petition. He sent the villagers away, informing them that action would be taken if they lodged a formal complaint.
