CHENNAI: Minister Anbarasan announced that farmers who plant high-yielding mulberry varieties will be given an incentive of Rs 7.50 crore.

 To promote quality sericulture, a grant will be provided to set up a separate sericulture farm at a cost of Rs.15.6 crore. An incentive of Rs 7.50 crore will be given to farmers planting high-yielding mulberry varieties.

 Modern sericulture logistics and farm equipment will be provided with incentives worth Rs.6.81 crore. Automatic Silk Mill will be installed at an estimated cost of Rs 5.98 crore

 An Integrated Sericulture Training and Tourism Complex will be set up at Gunnar Government Silk Farm, Nilgiris District

 Cash prizes of Rs.1 lakh, Rs.75,000 and Rs.50,000 will be awarded to the top three silk farmers at the state level.

 Thanjavur painting skills training for three months at a cost of Rs 15 lakh to women in Tiruvarur

 Training next generation artisans will be provided at an estimated cost of Rs 50 lakh to protect handicraft industries. Artisans will be provided with state-of-the-art equipment valued at Rs 50 lakh.

This was announced by the minister.
