Washington – 26 people have died due to the terrible disaster caused by a powerful hurricane in the United States. Hundreds have lost their homes. A state of emergency has been declared in the state of Mississippi.

A powerful tornado hit the US state of Mississippi last night. It rained heavily. Buildings and farmlands were damaged in the cyclone that lasted for more than an hour.

Electric poles were broken in many places. Traffic was affected due to fallen trees on major roads. Several parts of the province were plunged into darkness as electricity was cut within minutes of the cyclone’s onset. Wind gusts of up to 113 km/h lashed parts of Rolling Park, Deep Sea, Alabama.

Due to this, the death toll is feared to rise.

Full-scale rescue operations are underway in the affected areas.

Mississippi State Governor Tata Reeves said that because a tornado warning had already been issued, there were few casualties.

Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden, who declared a state of emergency in the state of Mississippi where the hurricane occurred, pointed out that there has been a great loss in the areas of Carroll, Humphreys, Monroe and Sharkey.
