Salem: A complaint of land encroachment has been lodged against a woman councilor of the DMK.

Kalachelvi, 49, belongs to fourth street, Vidya Nagar, Ammapet, Salem. He filed a petition at the Salem Collector’s office yesterday:

Salem Corporation, 40th Ward Councilor Manjula, who belongs to DMK. I bought his land on March 22, 2022 for 21 lakh rupees.

He is threatening to ask for 8 lakh rupees for that land again for 10 months. He has encroached on my land by parking cars and bikes.

In this regard, from Ammapet Police to Chennai Chief Secretariat, I have been fighting by giving many complaints. Last February, there was no action on the complaint made in person to Chief Minister Stalin who came to Salem.

Manjula’s husband is a convict in a murder case. When he came on ‘parole’ in June last year, he demanded my land and threatened to kill me.

Me and my daughter live without my husband. My family is threatened by them. Action should be taken against Manjula.

It says so.

Councilor Manjula said:

He gave 19 lakh rupees for my land. He said that he would give the remaining 7.56 lakh within a specified time after the purchase. If he asks for that money, he acts like this because he wants it.

I have already filed a case in Salem court regarding this. So I will meet according to law.

This is what he said.
