The Tamil Nadu Government Ration Shop Staff Association meeting was held at the Pollachi Retired Bank Staff Association meeting hall. Kinathukadavu Branch Secretary Perumalsamy welcomed. Pollachi District Secretary Ravichandran and Anaimalai District Secretary Dharmalingam read the petitions.
Coimbatore District President Kaliappan, District Secretary Selvaraj, Treasurer Kanakasabapathy spoke. District Vice President Jaganathan, District Deputy Secretary Murugesan spoke about the resolution.
The resolutions passed are as follows:
Public distribution scheme should be privatized. Ration shop workers should be recruited on the basis of general job skills and function at the level of district joint registrar.
Similarly, the ration shop workers implementing the public distribution scheme should be given free of cost PDP products.
All holidays should be provided to ration shop workers as provided to government employees.
Special schemes announced by Tamil Nadu government are provided through ration shops. For this, incentives should be provided. Those who have worked for more than 30 years should be promoted as salesmen, not on the basis of educational qualification. Including these, 30 demands were made to the government.
