Tamil News | Manokaran appointed as Freemasonry South Zone President

Chennai, : 300 years ago in England, the ‘Freemasonry’ system was started. Its head office for India is in Delhi. Under it, there are four zones.

The states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Kerala, Goa and Puducherry are under the southern zone.

This system teaches brotherly affection and virtue. At present, Manokaran has been appointed as the South Zone President of the Premansery Organization as ‘Regional Grand Master’.

His inauguration ceremony will be held on the 11th and 12th at the Trade Center in Chennai.

A ‘Padma Shri’ awardee, Manokaran served as the Chairman of Canara Bank and is currently the Chairman of IDBI. Before this, Freemasonry South Zone President was Madhusudhanan.

Speaking to reporters, Manokaran said:

There are 22,000 members of Freemasonry across India. More than 50 percent of them are in the southern region.

This organization treats all people equally without any discrimination and renders various services.

During my three-year tenure, various services will be provided, providing comfort to mentally challenged children and the visually impaired.
