Valparai: As the road widening work is going on at a snail’s pace, motorists are suffering.
From Valparai city to Sirukunra Koogangal river, the road widening work is going on for more than a month. Motorists suffer as potholes in the rotor are left intact. People have complained that road widening is going on at a snail’s pace.
According to the people, the road expansion work by the Highways Department is going on slowly on Sirukunra Koogangal Road, where thousands of tourist vehicles travel. Due to this, there are frequent accidents on this road.
Last, 10 days ago, two government buses collided on Sirukunra road. Due to the quick action of the drivers, the passengers escaped. Therefore, in the interests of motorists, the work of widening Sirukunra Road should be completed quickly,’ they said.
