Mumbai: The National High Speed ​​Rail Corporation has signed a new contract for the Mumbai ‘Bullet’ train project.

A bullet train is planned to run from Ahmedabad in Gujarat to Mumbai in Maharashtra and the foundation stone was laid in August 2021. But, it was not implemented.

In this case, the National High Speed ​​Rail Corporation has signed a new agreement with Hyderabad-based Mega Engineering and Infrastructure Company and Hindustan Construction Companies for the construction of a bullet train station in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla complex.

This is the first contract signed in the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project, said an official of the National High Speed ​​Rail Corporation.

According to this, the railway station will be located underground at a depth of 24 feet from the ground level.

It has been informed that this railway station, which will be built on a total area of ​​4.85 hectares and at a cost of Rs 3,681 crore, will be completed within 54 months from the date of commencement of works. The railway station has six platforms.

Each platform will be 415 meters long and will be connected to metro stations and roads for the convenience of the public.

There are three floors, two entrances and two exits, consisting of a platform, a concourse, and a service floor.

Special skylights have been arranged for the illumination of the railway station so that there is sufficient space for the passengers to walk without difficulty.

Besides, ticket counters, passenger waiting areas, toilets, smoking rooms, retail shops, surveillance cameras, public information announcement and security facilities are also to be set up.
