Udumalai: In Udumalai, the municipal authorities seized a building that had not paid property tax for 20 years.
Udumalai Municipality, Pollachi-Palani Road, No. 83, Commercial Complex, Jeevanandham, Subramaniam. Since 2002, they have been dragging the building without paying the property tax fixed by the municipality.
The case was heard in the Udumalai court and the verdict came in favor of the municipality. For 20 years, the owners were given a notice by the municipality to pay the outstanding property tax of 2 lakh, 34 thousand, 488 rupees.
However, due to non-payment of property tax, a forfeiture notice was issued.
In this case, yesterday, the municipal authorities seized the concerned commercial premises and ‘sealed’ them.
