Chennai: Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the newly constructed terminal at Chennai Airport on the 27th.

Chennai Airport has completed the first building of integrated air terminals, which is being constructed at a cost of Rs 2,400 crores and is being built on 2.36 lakh square meters.

Once the terminal becomes operational, the number of passengers will increase from 2.20 crore to 3.50 crore.

On the ground floor of this new terminal, passengers’ belongings are to be handled.

Standard procedures for international arrivals on the first floor; On the second floor, the departure procedures for passengers are carried out. In total, five platforms are located in this new terminal.

The construction work of the new airport has been completed. Tests are going on with the installed equipment and components.

As it was supposed to be opened next month, the new terminal will be inaugurated on the 27th as the prime minister has got time.

The Prime Minister will arrive in Rameswaram from Delhi on the morning of 27th, after completing the programs there, he will arrive in Chennai.

He will inaugurate the new terminal in a ceremony at the Chennai airport.
