New Delhi: In February last year, private equity investments and venture capital investments saw a 44 per cent decline.

Private equity and venture capital investments in India fell by 44 percent year-on-year to Rs 30,710 crore in February last year.

In this regard, EY, an Indian venture and alternative capital consulting firm, has said:

Investments by long-term investors fell by 13 percent compared to the previous January.

Increasing global recession, rising cost of capital, and differential valuations between buyer and seller are major impediments to capital utilization.

Also, the recent failure of some banks in the US, including SVP, is making investors shy away from short-term bold investments in the technology sector.

Last February, the number of ‘deals’ fell by 60 per cent to 55.

This was 139 in February last year and 75 in January last year.

In February last year, a lot of investments were made in the ‘real estate’ sector. Almost 19 thousand 920 crore rupees have been invested in this sector.

This has been reported.
