CHENNAI: As the prices of private cable and ‘TV’ companies have been increased, thousands of operators are looking for government cable and ‘TV’ companies. Natarajan, a member of the Tamil Government Cable and ‘TV’ Operators’ Association, sent a letter to the chairman of the company Kumaraguruparan:

Private cable and ‘TV’ companies in Tamil Nadu have increased the fees paid by the operators by up to 40 rupees. Thus, thousands of operators from private cable TV companies are ready to seek government cable TV company.

Steps should be taken to procure new ‘setup boxes’ to support such incoming operators.

Out of 100 set-up boxes, if 20 boxes are provided as HD boxes, additional operators will come looking for government cable, ‘TV’. For SD boxes, accessories including adapter, remote should be provided with the boxes.

To achieve the company’s target of 50 lakh connections, appropriate steps must be taken.
