Tamil News | Real estate boom in Kunradhur: 4,500 deeds registered in 2 months

by time news
CHENNAI: Sales of houses and plots have increased in Kundatur and adjoining areas like no other area in Chennai.

The number of newly settled people in Chennai and its suburbs for educational and employment reasons has increased significantly over the years. In line with this, government and private companies are implementing residential projects.
Due to Corona and curfew, the number of new immigrants has fallen in 2020 and 21. I have come across many places where I have seen advertisements for house rentals.

As the curfew eases and people return to normal life, the demand for new homes has increased. Thus, emphasis was given to the sale of houses whose construction work was completed before 2020. Following this, the introduction of new construction projects has also increased.

A registry official said:
In the suburbs of Chennai, the purchase of houses and plots in Kunratthar and adjoining areas has increased for a year. 4,500 deeds were registered in the month of January and February alone in the office of the Registrar, Kunrattur under South Chennai Registration District in Chennai Zone. In the same office, during the months of January and February 2022, 4,200 deeds were registered, officials of the registration department said.

Unlike anywhere else in the Chennai region, it has been calculated that on an average, 85 deeds per day are registered in the office of Kunraduthar Sir-Registrar. This indicates that property transactions in Chennai are on the rise.

People are interested in building their own house

S. Ramaprabu, Chairman of the Local Government Committee of the Builders Association of India said: In Chennai, there are 38 villages within the boundaries of the Registrar General’s office. It covers areas from Borur to Poontamalli.
To the east of Chennai, IT companies have proliferated along the Ramapuram and Porur corridor, as in the old Mamallapuram. Many people who join these companies are interested in buying houses and plots nearby.

As most of the plots here are in residential use, it is convenient to buy a plot and build a house. As of now, there are many opportunities here to buy a plot for 40 to 60 lakh rupees and build a separate house. Apart from this, big construction companies are also implementing premium plot schemes here. There is tremendous growth here, with large institutions such as schools, colleges, hospitals, and entertainment malls. It attracts construction companies and home buyers here.

Basic amenities are essential!

Urban planning experts said: Due to the development of real estate in the adjoining areas of Kunradhuar, the demand for basic facilities has also increased.
As most of the areas here are panchayats, underground sewers, rainwater drainage, and solid waste management projects are in high demand. This requirement has been brought to the attention of the government. We expect that the basic facilities in this area will improve soon.
