Thandikudi, : In the Kodaikanal Thandikudi hill area, rental car owners are suffering from loss of income as owners of own vehicles are also renting, affecting the income of rental vehicles. A large number of rental vehicles are operated in the hilly area with government permission. In recent times there has been an increase in the tendency of owners of own vehicles to rent without permission.

This trend has increased in the lower hill areas including Thandikudi, Mangalamkombu, Pannanakadu. Complaints have been made to the police and motor vehicle authorities but no action has been taken.

Anandraj, Driver: In the context of driving rental vehicles with permission and paying the tax properly, owners of on board vehicles are illegally intercepting the rental which affects their income.

This has affected the rental car owners. When asked about this, they argue. Now their livelihood has been affected, he said.
