Sivagangai, : In Sivagangai district, a target has been set to procure 550 tonnes of copra coconut because the agricultural products should get a reasonable price.

The copra will be procured through the Agricultural Marketing and Commercial Department to provide good income to the farmers who have cultivated coconut.

A total of 550 tonnes has been set as a target to procure 400 tonnes from Singampunari Regulatory Sales Hall under Sivagangai Sales Group, 100 tonnes from Sivaganga Regulatory Sales Hall and 50 tonnes from Tiruppuvanam Regulatory Sales Hall.

The quality of Aravik copra to be supplied by the farmers is fixed by the government.

Humidity should not exceed 6 percent. Only one percent of materials like straw, straw and fiber are allowed.

Cauliflower with dark color, shriveled cabbage, and chipped cabbage may be only 10 percent at most.

Farmers can register and hand over their pots along with their Chitta, Crop Cultivation Certificate, Aadhaar copy, bank passbook details at the nearest regulated sales hall.

The price of copra which is inspected and weighed by the officials will be credited to the farmers bank account.
