NEW DELHI-Editors Guild has condemned the new notification issued by the Central Government to amend the Information Technology Rules.

Yesterday, the central government announced that it will set up a censor board to monitor the news published on social media and find out whether they are true or false. It also informed that it has amended the IT regulations.

The Journal Editors Association of India has condemned this. A statement issued by the Association of Journalists in this regard:

This move by the central government is regrettable; This is against natural justice; severe. This action should be withdrawn. A decision should be taken after consultation with media organizations and press organizations in this regard.
