In Najran, Saudi Arabia, Najran Tamil Forum celebrated the Tamil Thirunalana Pongal festival very well. The administrative team of Najran Tamil Forum brought together all the Tamils living in Najran through their hard work and celebrated Pongal festival as a grand festival to highlight the culture, tradition and unity of Tamils to the world. Various people from foreign countries like Saudi Arabia and Sudan participated and celebrated this Pongal festival with great enthusiasm and joy. At 3.00 pm, all the Tamils of Najran joined together, dressed in our traditional clothes and celebrated the Pongalittu festival at Budupannai. At 4 pm, the festival started with the greeting of Tamil Thai, and on behalf of Najran Tamil Forum, there were traditional sports competitions for adults like tug-of-war, pot breaking, goal competitions, running race, music. Fun-filled games for children including chair were also conducted and prizes were given to the winners.Thirukkural reciting, Tamil poetry and elocution competition, Silambatam etc. were also conducted to encourage the younger generation of Tamils. Tamils living in Najran have shown their amazing artistic talent through artistic performances in keeping with the Tamil culture. Especially the Tamil song, poetry and dance of the little children captured the hearts of everyone. In this festival Nila Nakshatra team from Kerala sang folk songs which are a unique symbol of Tamil Nadu and left everyone in the sea of pleasure. At 9.00 pm it concluded with a Thanksgiving feast. Finally, all the participants of this event were served various kinds of traditional delicious food of Tamil Nadu on behalf of Najran Tamil Forum.
