This is not the first time that Attlee, who is a hitmaker in the Tamil film world, is in controversy because of the film.

Ever since the release of the teaser and the first look poster, Shahrukh Khan starrer Jawaan, directed by Attlee, has been eagerly awaited by fans. The feature of the film is that Nayanthara is the heroine. But the film is mired in a controversy. A Tamil film producer has come forward with the allegation that the story has been plagiarized.

Tamil producer Manikkam Narayanan has approached the Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council against director Atlee. Manickam has been accused of plagiarizing the story of the Vijayakanth-starrer Peraras in 2006. The national media reported that Manikkam Narayanan bought the rights of the story of Peraras.

Peraras is a film in which Vijayakanth appeared as twin brothers. Shah Rukh also plays a double role in Jawaan. Meanwhile, the crew of Jawaan is yet to release the information related to the story. The Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council will start an inquiry after the 7th of this month on Manikkam’s complaint.

This is not the first time that Attlee, who is a hitmaker in the Tamil film world, is in controversy because of the film. Earlier there were discussions that his debut film Rajarani had similarities with Mani Ratnam’s Mounaragam. There were reports that Mersal has similarities with the second film Terik Chhatriya, Mersal with Apoorva Bhadargal and Bigil with Chakde India.

Vijay Sethupathi plays the villain in Jawaan. Yogi Babu and Priyamani are in other roles.
