Tamil Nadu government announced Pongal festival gift package for family card holders

Chennai, Tamil Nadu – As the Tamil Thirunalam Pongal festival approaches on the 15th, the Tamil Nadu government has made an exciting announcement for family card holders. Chief Minister M. K. Stalin has declared that family card holders will receive a special package for the occasion, which includes 1 kg of tamarind, 1 kg of sugar, whole sugarcane, and a cash reward of Rs. 1,000.

The government has already completed the work of providing tokens for purchasing the Pongal gift sets and the Chief Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the Pongal prize collection event tomorrow.

In a recent development, the Tamil Nadu government has issued an ordinance regarding the distribution of Pongal gift packages. According to the ordinance, the government will be spending Rs. 2 thousand 436 crores on the Pongal gift package scheme. This initiative is aimed at benefitting all rice family card holders and 2,19,71,113 families living in Sri Lankan Tamil camps.

The announcement has been well received by the public, with many expressing gratitude for the government’s efforts to celebrate the Pongal festival and provide support to the residents. The distribution of Pongal gift packages is expected to bring joy and cheer to numerous families across Tamil Nadu.
