Sri Lanka’s Independence Day was declared as Charcoal Day on the fourth day of the Tamil uprising rally led by students of the North-Eastern Affiliated University from Jaffna University.
This uprising rally is being carried out by emphasizing the problems faced by the Tamils in the North-Eastern region and the homeland of the North-Eastern Tamils.
Various parties such as university students, civil society activists and public organizations are carrying out this struggle.
Trincomalee
Today, the rally reached Trincomalee with excitement as Tamil Nationalist politicians are also supporting them.
Many civil society activists in Trincomalee, representatives of public organizations and supporters of Tamil Nadu attended the rally in support of this rally.
After that, the Tamil speaking community in Trincomalee raised various slogans against the chauvinist oppression that they have been facing for the past 75 years and to stop the occupation of the Tamil territories and asserted their rights.
It has caused a stir at various places and has started towards Mudurai and has now reached Verugal.
