Tamil youth facing Malaysian death penalty! Give it a chance Sister crying

by time news

His elder sister Sharmila has demanded that Malaysian Tamil Nagendran Dharmalingam be given another chance to be shown mercy as his death sentence has been confirmed.

Nagendran was arrested by Singapore authorities in 2009 for smuggling 42.72 grams of heroin from Malaysia.

Nagendran (age 33) was sentenced to death for drug trafficking.

He was diagnosed with coronavirus last Wednesday, the day he was due to be executed. Due to this the gallows is currently suspended.

His elder sister Sharmila (age 35) said the government should give Nagendran a second chance in this situation.

Sharmila, 35, said she hoped the Singapore government would save her life. He suffers from intellectual disability.

We are praying that he will be saved. I believe in miracles … by the grace of God a miracle will happen. My brother is loving and caring about others.

Sharmila said Nagendran, who has a shy nature, thinks he was forced into drug trafficking.

When I visited Nagendra in jail recently he was in disarray and depressed.

He knew he would be hanged, but he told us he wanted to come home and take care of his mother. Sharmila, who also showed a photo of herself with Nagendra in tears as a child, has spoken with tears that my brother should come home.
