DGP Shailendrababu said that while the incident in which one person died due to a cylinder explosion in the Ukkadam area of Coimbatore, only one of the two cylinders in the car exploded and there were no Balrus bombs at the scene and there were some other things that are being investigated.
A Maruti car which was traveling in Ukkadam Kotdamedu area of Coimbatore this morning had an accident due to a sudden gas leak in which the cylinder exploded. A person who was traveling in the car died on the spot due to burns.
Following the information, the police rushed to the spot and set up barricades on all four sides at a distance of half a kilometer and are engaged in investigation and security work. As a result, the police have brought the entire incident under control.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Police Chief DGP Shailendrababu, who visited the scene in person, met the media. At that time he said that the investigation is going on. 6 special teams have been formed under the leadership of Commissioner Balakrishnan and the investigation is being conducted.
Investigations are being conducted under the leadership of the Director of Forensic Science Department. Coimbatore Bomb Squad and Commando Squad are also investigating. And out of the two cylinders in the car, only one cylinder has exploded
