Tamilnadu Local Body Elecyion Update : Urban local body elections were held in Tamil Nadu on the 19th as a single phase. The ruling DMK, as usual, faced the urban local elections with the assembly election alliance. But on the other hand, Pamaka withdrew from the opposition AIADMK alliance in the rural local elections for 9 districts held late last year. The AIADMK had formed an alliance with the BJP.

However, the DMK has announced that it will abruptly withdraw from the alliance and contest the by-elections with the AIADMK. Several independent candidates fielded with various party candidates including AIADMK, BJP, BJP, Naam Tamilar, People’s Justice Center, AIADMK, Demuthika.

The election was held in 21 corporations, 138 municipalities and 489 wards across Tamil Nadu with a turnout of 61 percent. In this context, the counting of votes in the election began at 8 am today. The DMK has been present in various parts of Tamil Nadu since the counting began. Following the same situation, the DMK has emerged victorious in many places.

The DMK has captured the Edappadi municipality of former chief minister Edappadi Palanichamy, especially in the Assembly elections, where it has won all the seats in the AIADMK’s stronghold of Coimbatore. Moreover, while the DMK is currently vying for victory in many of the AIADMK’s most influential seats in the state, its allies have also recorded significant success.

Moreover, both the BJP and the BJP, which contested separately from the AIADMK, have amassed a modest victory. The BJP has won in many places in Kanyakumari district. All other parties have won in a few places. In this situation, the Election Commission of Tamil Nadu has released the percentage of votes received by each party in the urban local government elections. The ruling party DMK is in the first place and the opposition AIADMK is in the second place. It is noteworthy that there is a big difference in the percentage of votes between these two parties.

The BJP, which split from the AIADMK in a few places in particular, came in second with more votes than the AIADMK.
