Organized in partnership with the commune of Gueznaya, this first edition took place with the participation of 200 people from different countries, including several women.
The duathlon, which combined a 5-kilometre running leg, followed by a 20-kilometre cycling leg and a final running leg, was won by Spaniard Christian Villazala, who finished the event in 56min15s.
At the end of the sporting event, Mr. Villazala said he was proud to have taken part in the first edition of this duathlon, calling on all athletes who are keen on cycling and running to take part in future editions.
For his part, the president of the Tangier Triumph Team association, Khalid Allou, indicated that this sporting event is an opportunity to highlight the cornice of the commune of Gueznaya, an additional tourist asset of Tangier.
“The duathlon aims to promote sport and team spirit within our community,” he added, recalling that the sporting event brought together participants of all ages and levels in order to raise awareness among all citizens of the importance of regular sporting activity.
The “Tangier Triumph Team” association is a sports association aiming to promote sport in general, and triathlon in particular, in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region.
