Tangier-Assilah: CPDH approves 27 youth economic inclusion projects

According to data presented during a meeting, which took place in the presence of the Secretary General of the Tangier-Assilah Prefecture, Habib Al Alami, the President of the Prefectural Council, and members of the committee representing local authorities, decentralized services and civil society, these projects are part of the “Income Improvement and Economic Inclusion of Youth” program of the third phase of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH).

These are 22 projects within the framework of the axis of support for entrepreneurship among young people and 5 projects relating to the axis of support for the social and solidarity economy (SSE).

Concerning the projects of the first axis, they require a budget envelope of 3.48 million dirhams (MDH), of which the contribution of the INDH amounts to 1.89 MDH, and should contribute to the creation of 63 job opportunities.

These projects concern the service sector (11 projects), the digital printing and advertising industry (5), embroidery and sewing (4), crafts, education and training (1 project each).

Within the framework of the ESS support axis, the cost of the five approved projects reaches more than 663,000 dirhams, of which 530,000 dirhams are mobilized by the INDH.

These projects are expected to contribute to the creation of 39 jobs in the sewing, agriculture and service sectors.

During this year, a total of 729 projects or project ideas were registered to benefit from the Initiative’s support. These projects concern the sectors of services (197 projects), agriculture (86), sewing and embroidery (89), hairdressing, aesthetics, catering, renewable energy, crafts, health, tourism, culture and sports.

This meeting was an opportunity to present the results of the Initiative’s projects during the period 2019-2022, which was marked by the financing of 299 projects, 287 of which are already operational, with a budget of 36.51 MDH, which contributed to the creation of 1,431 jobs.

The CPDH also approved 7 partnership agreements on facilitating honorary loans for women who were unable to make their individual contribution to the Initiative’s projects, training young people working in industrial units and rural tourism, and developing the capacities of young people in the field of sports animation, as well as supporting the management of child protection centers, in addition to the delivery of 25 preschool education units, which will be managed by the Regional Academy of Education and Training (AREF).

In a statement to M24, the MAP continuous news television channel, the head of the social action division (DAS) at the prefecture of Tangier-Assilah, Mohamed Ameziane, stressed that this meeting was marked by the presentation of a report on the projects carried out within the framework of the third phase of the INDH between 2019 and 2022, which shows that the rate of completion of these projects exceeds 96%, noting that the funded projects achieved a turnover of more than 88 MDH.

This meeting was also marked by the approval of a series of projects within the framework of the third programme of the third phase of the INDH, which will contribute to increasing the rate of economic inclusion of young people, creating new jobs and developing the culture of entrepreneurship among young people.
