Tangier: Dismantling of a criminal network active in the manufacture of inflatable boats and illegal immigration
Tangier – Elements of the prefectural service of the judicial police of Tangier dismantled, Thursday, on the basis of precise information provided by the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), a criminal network active in the manufacture and trafficking of inflatable boats, illegal immigration and drug trafficking.
Divisional Commissioner Abdessamad El Kaidi, head of the prefectural service of the judicial police in Tangier, stressed that the elements of the prefectural service proceeded, on the basis of precise information provided by the services of the DGST, to the dismantling of a criminal network active in the manufacture and trafficking of boats and their components without a permit, the organization of illegal immigration, human trafficking and international drug trafficking.
He said that three suspects, including the mastermind of the network, were arrested in two separate operations, stressing that this operation resulted in the seizure of 59 kg of Chira, inflatable boats of different sizes, water engines of different types and sizes, marine equipment and a light car.
In a statement to M24, the MAP continuous news channel, the official indicated that this operation is part of the efforts deployed by the security services of Tangier to fight against crime in all its forms.
He noted that the suspects were placed in police custody at the disposal of the investigation carried out under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office, specifying that the searches are continuing to arrest all the persons involved in this criminal network.
