Organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region (CCIS-TTA), the Regional Center of investment of Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (CRI-TTA), Tamwilcom and Investangier, this event was structured around the theme “Ecosystem, startup and synergies: Innovate, invest, build a sustainable future”.
Speaking on this occasion, the president of MASDI, Adil Miftah, stressed that this meeting aims to promote synergy within the start-up ecosystem.
“It is an opportunity to highlight investment opportunities, encourage the creation of sustainable and responsible start-ups and stimulate discussions on emerging trends in the sector,” he noted.
Regarding the start-up ecosystem in Morocco, Mr. Miftah mentioned the concept of “disruption” to describe products and services likely to completely disrupt a market and put poorly prepared start-ups in difficulty.
To this end, he pleaded in favor of concerted efforts to bring together young startupers around a mechanism promoting the development and growth of their products and services to reach international markets, welcoming, in this respect, the current initiatives various actors aiming to promote the digital ecosystem, such as the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, the CCIS-TTA, and Tamwilcom.
“This meeting stands out for being the first activity of MASDI, since its recent creation in 2023,” he clarified, noting that this association is fully dedicated to the startup.
For his part, the director of ecosystems and digital entrepreneurship at the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, Driss Lemjaouri, highlighted the current growth of the digital ecosystem in Morocco, particularly with the impetus for the 2030 national digital transition strategy.
“This strategy aims to position Morocco as a regional hub in terms of digital and innovation,” he noted in a press statement.
For his part, the first vice-president of the CCIS-TTA, Al-Hussein Ben Tayeb, noted that this meeting aims to simplify the concepts of digital transition for young people and to correct information related to the world of start-ups.
“Investment opportunities exist in the field of startups which, to seize them, it is necessary to put in place better support, to promote the development of the digital sector and to encourage young people to join it,” a- he asserted.
This event brought together a large audience, including investors, financing organizations, entrepreneurs, professionals, ministerial representatives, as well as students and researchers interested in the world of entrepreneurship and innovation.
Created in 2023, MASDI is a non-profit association committed to promoting the development of start-ups and digital inclusion in Morocco, by offering support and promotion services for start-ups.89
