Organized by the Regional Academy of Education and Training of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region (AREF-TTA) and the Regional Directorate of Youth, this tournament, which is part of the activities of the 15th edition of the summer camp organized for Maqdessi children, under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, aims to strengthen the bonds of friendship between Moroccan and Palestinian children, and also highlights the importance of sport as a means of developing in children the values of discipline, effort, generosity, and fair play.
Two teams from Al Quds and Morocco competed in women’s basketball, while three Moroccan teams and three Palestinian teams competed in futsal. Among these teams, 4 qualified to compete for the tournament’s symbolic prizes, which celebrate the historical solidarity of Moroccan generations towards Palestine.
The closing ceremony of the tournament will take place this Wednesday, with the presentation of trophies to the winners, accompanied by artistic shows and recreational games, presented by Moroccan and Palestinian children, in the presence of representatives of the tournament organizers and children from the summer camps taking place in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region.
The camp’s activities, which continue until August 25, also include educational excursions to Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Tetouan and Chefchaouen, as well as competitions, leisure activities, and meetings with Moroccan children in their summer camps located in the Diplomatic Forest of Tangier.
This year’s summer school program, which brings together nearly 4,000 Maqdessi children, focuses on games and recreation, with sessions of psychological support, awareness and education on dangers through first aid simulation exercises and rescue operations, supervised by professional trainers.
