Mr. Ouahbi was accompanied by the delegated president of the Superior Council of the Judicial Power, Mohamed Abdennabaoui, and the King’s Attorney General at the Court of Cassation, president of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, El Hassan Daki.
The project to upgrade the temporary seats of the Administrative Court of Appeal and the Administrative Court of First Instance, erected over an area of 5,200 m², including 1,360 m² covered, required an overall budget of 2,125,000 dirhams.
It includes two two-story pavilions housing offices for councilors and the first president, the emergency office, front office offices, the cash register, and offices for civil servants, as well as the office of the private secretary and management administrative.
The cost of fitting out the temporary headquarters of the Commercial Court of Appeal and the new headquarters of the Commercial Court, built on an area of 1,844 m², amounts to more than 9,174,000 dirhams.
The building of the Commercial Court of Appeal consists of two floors, including ten offices, including one for the collection of legal fees, a notification office, a presidential pavilion and another for the public prosecutor’s office.
The inauguration ceremony of these judicial infrastructures took place in the presence of the governor of the province of Fahs-Anjra, the presidents of elected bodies and elected regional professional bodies, as well as judicial and security officials, representatives of associations and bodies of the judicial professions, and heads of external services.
In a statement to the press, Mr. Ouahbi stressed that the strengthening of judicial infrastructures in the city of Tangier, the second economic center of the Kingdom, is part of the efforts made by the ministry to develop justice services, strengthen its infrastructures, and promote their efficiency and the quality of their services.
The minister noted that these efforts aim to bring judicial services and institutions closer to citizens and litigants, to respond to the remarkable development that the region is experiencing on the economic and social levels, and to support the growth of the region, which constitutes a model of urban development in Morocco.
In this regard, the interventions of the judicial officials of the courts concerned noted that these new judicial infrastructures aim to ensure fair and impartial justice, based on equality before the law, efficiency and transparency, by winning the trust of the society, in accordance with the High Royal Guidelines.
The speakers further stressed that the creation of these judicial structures marks a major turning point in the process of generalization of specialized justice to all regions of the Kingdom, and affirms the continued cooperation between the independent judicial power and the executive power to consolidate judicial regionalization, bring justice closer to litigants and implement the strategic plan of the judiciary.
On this occasion, recently appointed judicial officials were installed in the Courts of Appeal and the administrative and commercial courts of first instance in Tangier.
