Popular music, captivating melodies and breathtaking rhythms shared with an enthusiastic audience, and the magic quickly happened, transforming the Palace of Italian Institutions in Tangier into a place of communion and happiness, during this 22nd edition of the festival.

From the interpretation of the first musical notes, these geniuses of guitar and melody created a festive atmosphere that propelled the audience into a magical and captivating musical universe.

With “Volare”, “Djobi, Djoba”, “Bamboleo”, and “Un Amor”, the singer of the group Nicolas Reyes happily drew from the repertoire of the Gipsy Kings, to offer the public a unique and immersive experience, mixing rhythms of rumba flamenco, pop and ballads.

With his warm and husky voice, particularly recognizable, Nicolas Reyes also paid tribute to the Greek artist Demis Roussos, who died in 2015, by performing a cover of his song “Mourir près de mon amour”.

In a packed open space, Nicolas Reyes’ voice often blended with that of an audience heated to white heat by the fiery atmosphere and the exuberant music of the “Kings”, which left no one indifferent.

The group also performed a very successful acoustic version of Amr Diab’s song “Tamally Ma’ak”, before finishing in style with their hit song “A Mi Manera”, a Spanish version of Claude François’ famous song “Comme D’Habitude”.

In this electric atmosphere, Nicolas Reyes did not hesitate to interact with the festival-goers, chanting his love for Morocco and promising to return to meet the Moroccan public.

The Gipsy Kings, icons of flamenco rumba, have enchanted the world with their unique fusion of flamenco, pop and Catalan rumba, becoming global ambassadors of rhythm and joy.

The group is one of the headliners of this 22nd edition of Tanjazz, which continues until September 22 at the Palais des institutions italiennes in Tangier, with several old-school jazz and swing concerts.

At the same time, a public stage will host big names from the Moroccan scene, such as Hamid El Kasri. Festival regulars such as Gnawa Express and Hoba Hoba Spirit will also be there, offering a unique blend of tradition and modernity.

The festival also takes place in the streets of the city of Détroit, with a fanfare crossing the streets of Tangier, from the Kasbah to the Grand Socco, and which will continue to animate the city throughout the festival.
