The department has assured that “the units of one of the mechanized compounds are ready to perform the tasks assigned to them.”
“Military personnel are loading military equipment into railway transport and starting a joint march to the designated places,” the Belarusian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
Additionally, the Belarusian military shared footage allegedly showing military equipment being loaded onto a railway train.
This action is seen as Ukraine‘s response to the alleged violation of Belarusian airspace.
Andrey Demchenko, a representative of the State Border Service, confirmed that there is currently no movement of Belarusian equipment at the Ukrainian border.
“The situation at the border remains unchanged. We are not currently registering any movement of equipment or personnel in the vicinity of our border. This is likely due to the information effect. Belarus will likely be compelled to release photos and videos of any equipment that may approach the border.”
Demchenko labeled the Belarusian actions as “an escalation in their collaboration with Russia.”
Earlier, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko claimed that the country’s air force and air defense systems were “ready” and had destroyed Ukrainian drones that had allegedly entered Belarusian and Russian airspace.
Lukashenko stated that the drones initially flew towards Smolensk but later changed course and headed towards Russia’s Yaroslavl region.
