jpnn.comJAKARTA – Chairman of the MPR RI and Deputy Chairman of the Golkar Party Bambang Soesatyo reminded that advances in artificial intelligence (AI) are disrupting the world of education.
The massiveness of Generative AI such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and others, makes it easy for students to gain various academic knowledge, even without having to ask teachers/lecturers in class.
Bamsoet – his nickname – quoted the Grand View Research report that the AI technology market in the world of education increased from USD 36.37 million in 2020 to USD 556.9 million in 2021, and reached USD 2.5 billion in 2022.
Another finding from Deloitte, the market value of Generative AI will reach USD 44 billion in 2023, and USD 66 billion in 2024.
“Allied Market Research predicts that the AI technology market in the world of education will reach USD 88.2 billion in 2032,” said Bamsoet in the National Briefing for the Socialization of the Four Pillars of the MPR RI to the Tanoto Scholars Gathering 2024, virtually on Monday (29/7).
Present at the socialization were, among others, CEO of Tanoto Foundation Benny Lee, Country Head of Tanoto Foundation Indonesia Inge Kusuma, Head of Leadership Development and Scholarship Tanoto Foundation Indonesia Michael Susanto, and Head of Strategic and Impact Communication Tanoto Foundation Indonesia Deviani Wulandari.
He explained that as a lecturer, he needed to work hard to correct various assignments and dissertations from students, because he had to be able to differentiate between assignments done by AI and those done by the students themselves.
According to Bamsoet, students must be wise in using AI.
Bamsoet reminded the importance of national insight for the younger generation when providing guidance at the 2024 Tanoto Scholars Gathering.
