Table of Contents
6. Sea Me Dance proved her potential with a dominant win at Quirindi on Boxing Day, scoring by a significant margin as the favorite. While this race presents a tougher challenge, she’s capable of repeating that performance in this smaller field. 7. Think I’m Irish has consistently shown promise with placements in three consecutive starts at Bong Bong, Muswellbrook, and Tuncurry, before a seventh-place finish at Orange. She could bounce back here. 3. Mellencamp has been midfield in his recent runs at Scone and Newcastle, and could show improvement. 5. Tea Or Coffee has been consistently close to the placings and shouldn’t be dismissed.
How to play it: Sea Me Dance WIN.
Racing heads to Taree on Friday.
Race 2:
8. Fannoir is set to debut after two trials, winning the first at Scone in April and the second at Tamworth last month. This race looks like a favorable starting point for him. 1. Agent Max performed well on debut at Taree and is expected to run competitively. 3. La Potenza has been placed in both of her previous starts and should be in contention again. 7. Euroka Abby is also debuting and has shown promise in her trials.
How to play it: Fannoir WIN.
Race 3:
10. Odaka is returning from a spell with a third at Hawkesbury and a fourth on the Beaumont track at Newcastle. Her consistent record suggests she’ll be a strong contender. 11. Tetsu Belle was further back in her last outing but could improve. 5. Bellevue resumed from a spell with a fifth at Hawkesbury and is expected to be fitter this time. 3. Maximum Ride has been racing well and could factor into the minor placings.
How to play it: Odaka WIN.
Race 4:
4. Speedy Target boasts a solid record with two wins and six placings from 18 starts. Two recent second-place finishes demonstrate his current form, making him a leading contender. 3. Climate Control raced prominently at Scone in his last start. 8. Kermitisapet secured a win at Taree in May and has had a recent trial, suggesting she’s primed for a strong performance.
How to play it: Speedy Target WIN.
Race 5:
1. Surpasser is a well-bred runner who debuted with a fourth on the Beaumont track at Newcastle, finishing just over two lengths behind the leaders. He’s expected to build on that performance. 4. Top Speed has had a couple of starts and appears ready for a good run. 3. Lune D’excellence has been out of form recently but is capable of improvement. 12. Tesorino ran well in his last race and shouldn’t be overlooked.
How to play it: Surpasser WB.
Race 6:
1. Etoile Filante displayed solid form before a spell, consistently finishing near the placings. He’s had four starts since resuming, including a third on the Beaumont track at Newcastle. If he can replicate that effort, he’ll be hard to beat. 3. Lord Vettori enjoyed a strong win at Grafton two starts ago and followed up with a second at Beaumont, finishing strongly as the favorite. 2. Star Prediction was midfield in a Highway race and needs to perform at that level. 6. Herman Said has a respectable record and could be in the mix.
How to play it: Etoile Filante WIN.
Race 7:
6. Mission Bravo was a convincing winner at Taree three starts ago and placed third at Tuncurry. He struggled at Warwick Farm last time but could rebound. 5. Think We’re There has been disappointing recently but may show improvement. 3. Monty Be Quick ran well when placed at Hawkesbury and should be competitive. 1. Full Press is usually close to the action and could earn a minor placing.
How to play it: Mission Bravo EACH WAY.
Race 8:
6. Antilocapra is resuming from a spell but showed good form before, including a narrow win at Gunnedah and a close second behind a subsequent city winner in a Highway at Rosehill. Returning to that form would make her the one to beat. 3. Speedy Henry won at Bathurst in June and resumed with a fourth at Gosford last month. He’s expected to run well. 2. Navy Steel won at Muswellbrook before finishing midfield in a Randwick Highway and has claims, while 11. Zelestial is resuming and looks set to sprint well fresh.
How to play it: Antilocapra WIN.
Best Bets: Race 5 (1) Surpasser; Race 8 (6) Antilocapra.
Best Value: Race 7 (6) Mission Bravo.
