jpnn.comJAKARTA – Economic expert from Tadulako University, Palu, Mohamad Ahlis Djirimu, assesses that the 10 thousand entrepreneurs program launched by the candidate pair for Governor and Deputy Governor of Central Sulawesi (Sulteng) number 1, Ahmad Ali-Abdul Karim Aljufri, is the right moment to reduce extreme poverty and the number of unemployment in the largest province of Sulawesi.

“This is the right moment for several reasons. First, 50 percent of Central Sulawesi’s population is currently millennial and under. If you add Gen-X, the proportion is 80 percent,” said Ahlis when contacted by journalists.

The Head Professor at the Untad Faculty of Business Economics detailed that currently the number of Gen-Z or ages 10-24 years in Central Sulawesi has reached 779,580 people or 24.75 percent of the total population.

Meanwhile, Gen-Millennials or ages 25-39 reached 787,020 people or 24.98 percent. Meanwhile, Gen-X or those aged 40-59 years represent 959,080 people or 30.44 percent.

The second reason, continued Ahlis, is that the data above shows that there is a starting point for taking advantage of the demographic bonus.

“Third, Central Sulawesi’s unemployment rate will increase from 2.95 percent in 2023 to 3.15 percent in 2024. The highest unemployment is dominated by vocational school graduates, reaching 6.84 percent,” added the Indonesian Ministry of Finance expert.

For the fourth reason, said Ahlis, entrepreneurship is an economic institutional solution. The potential for strengthening economic institutions is in deciles 3-5 of integrated social welfare data.

“Meanwhile, Central Sulawesi’s extreme poverty is in decile 1, which means very poor,” said Ahlis.

Economic experts from Tadulako University, Palu, responded positively to the 10 thousand new entrepreneurs program promoted by Central Sulawesi regional election candidate Ahmad Ali-AKA
