The Municipality of Tarhouta announced, “Based on the reports issued by the National Meteorological Center, which include the entry of some of the western regions, including the municipality of Tarhuna, under the influence of atmospheric instability, it declares a state of light emergency based on the developments of the depression.”

In this context, the “Roya” Foundation, which specializes in monitoring weather forecasts, reported, “Climate forecasts indicate heavy rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and hail, starting tonight until tomorrow morning.”

She added: “It is expected that these rains will include the areas of the western coast of Libya, including Ras Jadir, Zaltan, Al-Assa, Zuwara, Raqdalin, Al-Jamil, Al-Ajailat, Sabratha, Sorman, and Al-Zawiya, with the impact extending to the areas west of Al-Jifara, Batin Al-Jabal and West Al-Jabal.” “.

The corporation explained that “the prevailing weather phenomena will include the effect of the eastern return phenomenon, which will lead to an increase in the abundance of rain, and it is expected that there will be flowing into the valleys and the accumulation of water in low-lying and coastal areas as a result of these heavy rains.”

The “Roya” Foundation called on “all citizens in the affected areas to take caution and stay away from flood streams and valleys. It also called on them to avoid being in low-lying places that may witness the accumulation of water, in order to preserve their safety.”
