DIG/ The Task Force on internal and external debt has made shocking revelations on significant seizures made from third parties, as part of its investigative missions.

These heavy-handed operations made it possible to seize, she indicates, more than… 100 billion francs in accounts held in local banks.

“Account in escrow: From nearly fifty bank accounts of natural and legal persons, the Taskforce was able to recover around a hundred billion FCFA”, the report says. Without further details.

A laconic sentence which raises (as one might have suspected) a lot of questions in national opinion.

What investigations are these? In what context were they carried out? What financial crimes were these individuals and legal entities guilty of? Why is the Task Force not revealing the names of the people and the identities of the companies whose billions were seized? Where was this money sent back?

To guarantee the credibility of its control operations, the Task Force and the Ministry of Justice would benefit from shedding light on these new record seizures.
