DRF shares, which had traded at Rs 140 at the start of trading this morning, rose 5 per cent to Rs 141.45. But was immediately locked.

“Tata Steel has invested Rs 165 crore and bought 16.50 crore shares,” DRF said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange on Tuesday. Prior to the investment, Tata Steel had a 34.11 per cent stake in DRF. This will enable DRF to meet the additional investment requirements of the company, including debt repayment.

DRF is the largest designer, manufacturer and manufacturer of equipment for the industrial, power, port, steel, mining, and cement plants.
